Meet Raymond
Co-Founder & Principal Adviser, PrimePath Mortgage & Financing Solutions
In 1989, a University of Guyana student wrote a thesis on low- and middle-income housing in Georgetown. It was a question about community — who gets to own property, who gets left behind, and what that difference means for a city's future. That question never left him.
More than three decades later, Raymond McMillan — one of Canada's most experienced mortgage professionals and real estate advisers — has returned to Guyana to help answer it. PrimePath Mortgage & Financing Solutions is the culmination of everything he has built: the academic foundation, the cross-border expertise, the industry relationships, and an unwavering belief that every Guyanese — at home or in the diaspora — deserves access to credible, professional mortgage and real estate guidance.
"His path between Georgetown and the GTA has been anything but ordinary."
After graduating with a degree in Geography and Economics — with a focus on urban studies and demography — Raymond built a career in Canada that few in the mortgage industry can match. Starting at Standard Life, moving through RBC and CIBC, he developed expertise across investment advising, personal lending, and mortgage underwriting. In 1999, he launched full-time into mortgage brokerage and never looked back — funding hundreds of millions of dollars in residential mortgages and establishing himself as one of the GTA's most decorated and top-producing professionals.
But Raymond's work has always been about more than transactions. His academic foundation in urban studies and demography gave him the ability to read markets the way few advisers can — not just through rate sheets and lending criteria, but through the underlying forces that shape where communities grow, how populations move, and what long-term real estate value really looks like.
That same conviction drove him to co-found the Afro-Caribbean Business Network (ACBN) in 2017 — a platform providing networking, mentorship, funding access, and business development resources to Black entrepreneurs across Canada. As a co-founder and board member, Raymond helped build something that outlasts any single deal: infrastructure for a community.
Now, that mission has come home. As co-founder of PrimePath, Raymond is bringing the standards, the networks, and the cross-border depth he built over thirty years in Canada directly to Guyanese homebuyers, investors, builders, and diaspora clients who deserve the same quality of guidance — wherever they are in the world.
"If you are buying your first home, developing land, managing a build from abroad, or planning your return to Guyana — Raymond McMillan and the PrimePath team have the credentials, the connections, and the clarity to move you forward."
